For the record, a hospital bed is not like one of those beds you might have lying around at home. It contains special parts and characteristics so that doctors, nurses can take care of their patients conveniently. The hospital bed, for instance, can be raised or lowered allowing the patient to sit up while talking with a doctor or lay down. The ability to place the patient in a position relative for their comfort, some patients may want to sit up due enjoyability breathing while others will simply wanting lay back. The bed has safety rails that can be raised to prevent the patient from falling out This is critical as patients may be too weak or even too dizzy to get up out of their bed by themselves. Hospitals also have beds that come with special mattresses built in to help stop bedsores, which are a nasty type of injury someone can get if they lie still for too long.

It is important for people who are sick or hurt to rest a lot because it helps their body heal better. So by sleeping a patient in hospital bed it helps to make them get the kind of rest they want so that they may be able to go home. The bed can be maneuvered in a number of ways to allow the patient proper rest and sleep maintenance. However, hospital beds are equipped with the things need to help a patient get in and out of bed. The bed can be lowered from its normal height so that the patient does not have to jump down and eqauslly step on whic make them more stable. Or raised for a patient to sit without over-exertion. Hospital beds were pretty basic and simple back in the day. If a doc wanted to change the height of their bed… you guessed it, time for more moving patients from one too narrow and plasticky feeling bed over another half-broken facsimile that has seen better years :) The most word was that the mattresses were hard and utter piercing which caused joined to have bedsores. Even safety rails were not always provided, so patients had to be closely watched for fear of falling out of bed.
